HZ info:Recently, Guangxi Jinjushi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. completed the registration of the "High-performance Powder Coating Production Line Project for New Energy Vehicle Liquid Cooling Plates" in the Nanning High-tech Industrial Development Zone. This project focuses on upgrading the surface treatment process of core components for thermal management in power batteries and represents an important move by the company to deepen its presence in the southwest region.

As a core component for thermal management in power and energy storage batteries, liquid cooling plates are constantly exposed to high-temperature, high-humidity, and high-voltage environments and are susceptible to corrosion from electrolyte penetration, placing extremely high demands on coating performance. The dielectric strength of powder coatings remains stable at over 65 kV/mm, with superior corrosion and aging resistance compared to liquid coatings. Additionally, the coating utilization rate exceeds 95%, and VOC emissions are almost zero. Moreover, its automated spraying process is suitable for large-scale production, making it the standard solution in the supply chains of leading battery manufacturers such as CATL and BYD.

Founded in 2023, Guangxi Jinjushi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., as the core production entity of Jushi Group's Nanning base, specializes in manufacturing key thermal management components such as liquid cooling plates for new energy vehicles. Its parent company, Jushi Group, started with communication and military aluminum alloy parts in 2014 and successfully transitioned into the new energy vehicle sector in 2016. Today, it has deeply integrated into the supply chains of mainstream automakers including Geely, Li Auto, NIO, XPeng, Xiaomi, GAC Aion, and Mercedes-Benz, and has established solid partnerships with battery giants like CATL and Sunwoda. In July 2024, Xiaomi's Beijing Xiaomi Smart Manufacturing Equity Investment Fund made a strategic investment in the company, further validating its technological prowess and industrial value.

To meet market demand, the company invested 1.5 billion yuan in November 2025 to start construction on a production base in Xiantao, Hubei, capable of producing 1 million battery lower casings and cooling plates annually. Once fully operational, the base is expected to generate annual sales of 2 billion yuan, potentially increasing the company's market share in battery casings from approximately 15% to 25%, further solidifying its scale advantage in the niche market.

Nanning's increasingly well-developed new energy battery industrial chain provides crucial support for this liquid cooling plate powder coating production line layout. Since 2022, led by BYD and Do-Fluoride, Nanning has built a complete industrial ecosystem covering cell manufacturing, positive and negative electrode materials, copper and aluminum foils, and battery recycling. Currently, the city's planned investment in battery and supporting projects exceeds 80 billion yuan, with projected annual output value exceeding 160 billion yuan upon completion. As battery production capacity is concentrated and released, local demand for liquid cooling plate supporting components is set to grow significantly.

While the local industrial chain continues to mature, robust growth in the downstream market has also opened up broader prospects for the liquid cooling plate coating sector. According to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in 2025, automobile production and sales reached 34.531 million and 34.4 million units respectively, up over 9% year-on-year, maintaining the top global position for the 17th consecutive year. Among them, new energy vehicle production and sales exceeded 16 million units, with a domestic penetration rate exceeding 50% and exports reaching 2.615 million units, doubling year-on-year.

The rapid penetration of new energy vehicles has directly driven a surge in power battery installations, leading to a corresponding increase in demand for liquid cooling plates as core components for battery thermal management. Meanwhile, the widespread adoption of 800V high-voltage platforms and stricter battery safety standards have raised higher requirements for the insulation, thermal conductivity, and corrosion resistance of liquid cooling plate coatings. Today, the liquid cooling plate coating sector has formed a collaborative landscape where upstream material suppliers and downstream manufacturers advance together.

Although powder coating for liquid cooling plates is already widely used among leading battery manufacturers, material technology and process are still evolving rapidly. Additionally, the industry is moving towards thin coatings with thicknesses ranging from 60 to 100 microns and low-temperature curing at 130 to 150 degrees Celsius. Companies that achieve breakthroughs first still have opportunities to reshape the competitive landscape.
