Xuanwei recently launched the Heat Flex insulation coating product portfolio ® 7000, this product can provide personnel protection, equipment insulation, and reduce solar heat absorption for industrial applications. As a single component spray product, this product meets OSHA standards and can protect workers from skin contact and burns during equipment substrate construction at temperatures up to 350 ° F (177 ° C).
By coating the equipment with Heat Flex 7000, it is possible to protect operators from contact burns without using traditional insulation wrapping and protective systems, reducing equipment installation, inspection, and maintenance costs, and thus eliminating the common threat of corrosion under insulation (CUI). In addition, coatings can also reduce the heat loss of equipment that needs to maintain high temperatures, or reduce the solar heat absorption of equipment that needs to maintain low temperatures.
The Heat Flex 7000 can be directly applied to hot substrates and can be sprayed with a single layer of coating (usually with a dry film thickness (DFT) of 50-75 mils) on the required corrosion-resistant primer. This coating system adopts new technology to form a thick and fully cured large volume coating film, effectively preventing the transfer of heat from the substrate to the surface and from the surface to the substrate.
Although the Heat Flex 7000 cannot provide the same thermal resistance coefficient (R value) as traditional insulating materials under dry conditions, it forms a closed cell film, which can more effectively resist the moisture penetration of rain, water spray or moisture than traditional insulating materials. Therefore, even under the wettest conditions, its thermal resistance coefficient remains consistent. In contrast, any cracks or seams in the insulation/cladding system may penetrate and retain water, replacing insulating air and greatly reducing the thermal resistance coefficient of the insulation system. These moisture may remain at the insulator/substrate interface, significantly increasing the risk of corrosion under insulation (CUI) formation and diffusion.
The Heat Flex 7000 can protect thermal sensitive equipment and substrates (storage tanks, fuel pipelines, water cooling pipelines, and other assets) from the influence of solar heat. In these cases, it is recommended to use a reflective white formula to isolate assets and maintain a low internal working temperature. A lower operating temperature helps to reduce the loss of fuel or cooling water in fuel tanks and pipelines due to vaporization, and reduces the demand for expensive steam recovery or cooling equipment.
