Toyo Printing has inaugurated a state-of-the-art factory in western Türkiye. With a EUR 65 million investment, the company aims to boost production, expand exports and strengthen Japanese-Turkish industrial ties.
On 13 May 2025, Toyo Printing, a member of the Japanese artience Group, officially opened its new production facility in the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, located in western Türkiye. The plant was built with an investment of USD 70 million (approximately EUR 65 million) and covers an area of 62,500?m². The facility combines advanced automation, resource efficiency and a strong focus on environmentally friendly production.
According to Yakup Benli, CEO and Board Member of Toyo Printing, the factory will double the company’s production capacity and enable the local manufacturing of products that were previously imported, such as lamination adhesives. The site is also intended to serve as a strategic export hub for neighbouring countries. Benli described the plant as a symbol of the long-standing and growing cooperation between Japan and Türkiye, which celebrated 100 years of diplomatic relations in 2024.
Sustainability, efficiency and regional growth
The new site features modern automation systems designed to improve energy efficiency and minimise environmental impact. Benli highlighted that sustainability is a key pillar of Toyo Printing’s operations, both in product development and facility design.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kenichi Kasahara, Consul General of Japan in Istanbul, underlined the growing economic ties between the two countries. Referring to both historic and current cooperation, he expressed his optimism for the next century of Japanese-Turkish relations.
Focus on packaging and high-performance inks
Satoru Takashima, CEO of artience Group, emphasised the strategic relevance of the new factory for the packaging sector. The facility will produce high-quality inks and adhesives used in food packaging and flexible wrapping applications. A second phase will include the production of water-based inks and high-performance formulations for metal packaging.
Isao Kameoka, Chairman of Toyo Printing, concluded by expressing confidence in the Turkish market. He stressed that the new facility will support business partners and contribute to regional industrial development through cutting-edge infrastructure and a strong commitment to sustainable growth.
