Silica sol coatings are inorganic coatings made by using the water dispersion of colloidal silicon dioxide as the film - forming substance and mixing it with pigments, fillers, and additives, followed by stirring, grinding, and dispersion. The molecular formula of silica gel is H2SiO3. It is a dispersion of SiO2 units in water. Product Characteristics:
When used as a coating base material, silica sol has the following characteristics:
(1) Due to the fine particles of silica sol, the SiO2 during gelation has high activity. SiO2 can wrap the powdery particles in the coating, causing the powdery particles to react with certain inorganic salts and metal oxides to form new silicate inorganic polymer compounds, which harden to form a film. The fine particles have good penetration into the substrate and can penetrate into the interior of the substrate through capillary action, giving the coating strong bonding force.
(2) The low Na2O content in silica sol makes the coating film have good water resistance. Since the reaction with the substrate is slow, the coating has good brushability. When there is no salting - out phenomenon, the color is uniform, so the decorative effect is relatively good.
(3) Silica sol has a large specific surface area and is easy to form a network structure, and this structure is irreversible. Therefore, the coating film is hard, has strong adhesion, and has excellent water resistance and chemical resistance.
(4) The silica sol coating film does not generate static electricity, is not easy to attract dust, and has excellent dirt resistance.
(5) The coating film has good stability, as well as good weather resistance and high - temperature resistance.
Packaging, Transportation, and Storage:
Packaged in 25L, 200L, and 1000L polyethylene plastic drums. Transport and store in an environment of 0 - 40°C.
Precautions:
Avoid contact with eyes and skin during use. If accidentally contacted, rinse thoroughly with running water.
