Matte finish products have always been an important component in architectural coatings. With consumers' increasing awareness of coating products, higher requirements are being placed on properties such as gloss, water repellency, and stain resistance. The variety of interior and exterior wall artistic paint products is becoming richer, leading to higher demands for matte finish performance. Lower gloss and higher stain resistance have become the key research and development directions for matte finish emulsion products.
ROSF's matte finish technology, through continuous exploration and technical iteration, has successfully developed ROSF-93W Matte Finish Emulsion. It achieves a gloss level below 10 without the need for matting powder, and exhibits excellent properties such as stain resistance, scratch resistance, and water repellency, providing comprehensive protection for paint films.
Applications:
Exterior wall finishes: Matte finishes for products such as colorful paints, real stone paints, textured paints, and lime paints.
Interior wall finishes: Matte finishes for products such as microcrystalline color, quartz stone, microcement, mamanu, and latex paint.
ROSF Matte Finish Mechanism
ROSF's "Isolation Screen" + "Phase Separation" Technology
"Isolation Screen" Technology + "Phase Separation" Technology: Specially designed polymer emulsion is dedicated to making the paint film easier to clean while blocking sources of pollution. Lower gloss and better transparency make the paint film appear more natural. The outer hydrophilic layer and inner hydrophobic layer structure effectively blocks pollutants from contaminating the coating while facilitating water spreading to flush away contaminants. Simultaneously, during the emulsion film-forming process, there is a slight phase separation at the surface, creating a textured surface to reduce the coating's gloss.

ROSF-93W utilizes ROSF's matte technology platform, achieving an ultra-matte gloss with a gloss level of less than 10°at an 85°angle, while maintaining excellent transparency. Additionally, coatings formulated with ROSF-93W exhibit exceptional storage stability. Even after exposure to ultraviolet light, it maintains excellent gloss stability.

Paper Gloss |
Black and white cardboard, 150μm thick, placed in a constant temperature chamber for 24 hours for gloss testing; (Alternatively, a quick method involves film scraping and drying at 50 degrees Celsius for testing.) |

QUV Gloss (Before) |
Glass plate, 150μm thick, dried for 24 hours, then subjected to QUV exposure for 48 hours (if no significant difference is observed, the QUV exposure time can be extended, with the actual QUV exposure time recorded). |

QUV Gloss (After) |

△ 85 ° angle gloss |
Test Conditions: Gloss testing is to place black and white cardboard in a constant temperature environment for 24 hour to record actual gloss experiment and use a paint mixture with a 50% emulsion content.
From the above results, it can be observed that ROSF-93W has low gloss and stable gloss resistance under QUV exposure.
2.Water Whiteness Resistance of Coating Film:
After soaking in water
After soaking and recovery
Standard product
Note: When coating on colorful substrates with poor water whiteness resistance, apply a brushing quantity of 0.15kg/㎡. Dry in a constant temperature and humidity chamber at 25°C for 24 hours, observe after soaking for one hour, and observe water recovery after removal and 24 hours at room temperature.
ROSF-93W exhibits superior initial water whiteness resistance and water recovery performance.
3.Coating Film Scratch Resistance:
Note: Use the same tool to scratch the coated glass plate.
Experimental results show that ROSF-93W has a significant advantage in scratch resistance performance.
4. Stain Resistance:
Note: Stain resistance testing was conducted according to the brush coating method in Chapter 5 of GB/T 9780-2013, using Method B.
According to the national standard test, ROSF-93W's stain resistance reaches 5.3%, surpassing the requirement of less than 15% as specified in HG/T 5065-2016.
5. Graffiti Resistance:
Before wiping
After wiping
Note: Wet film of 200μm was scraped onto black and white cardboard, placed in a 50-degree oven for 24 hours, then taken out for testing. Watercolor pens were used to draw 4 lines, and wiping cleanliness was tested at intervals of 10 minutes, 2 hours, 4 hours, and 24 hours, respectively.
After 24 hours, ROSF-93W showed no traces after wiping, while the other group of samples had noticeable marks.
Summary
ROSF-93W, as a matte coating emulsion product, exhibits extreme matte finish, easy application, avoiding the issue of blooming during coating application. It achieves self-matte extinction, eliminating the need for matte additives, simplifying the process. With excellent anti-stratification properties, it provides a more secure guarantee for the stability of your finished paint. High resistance to dirt and outstanding scratch resistance offer better protection for your paint film. Being a pure acrylic emulsion, it boasts excellent weather resistance, providing more durable protection for buildings.
